Our Story
Michael Besser's journey began as a teenager, learning construction fundamentals and tile setting alongside his father. After college, he moved to Colorado and established a tile company in Steamboat Springs before relocating to Denver to pursue commercial project management. Working for the largest commercial flooring company in the region, Michael managed large-scale projects including hospitals, hotels, and Denver International Airport, gaining invaluable expertise in complex construction environments.
When COVID impacted his commercial career, Michael returned to his construction roots and expanded into safe room technology around 2015, partnering with an experienced neighbor to master this specialized field. Originally operating as Colorado Safe Room in 2016, the business evolved to provide accessible, modernized protection options for everyday homeowners throughout Denver's diverse neighborhoods, from historic Capitol Hill homes to modern developments in the Tech Center.
